For the past few years, visitors to the Sun- belt Ag Expo have received added value from the Southeast Farm Press mobile

year, according to Farm Press Publisher
Greg Frey and Sunbelt Ag Expo Marketing
Director Gina McDonald.
“Our mobile apps and multiple digital
products provide timely, reliable information during the Expo and afterward,” Frey
“Also, our mobile Expo app provides
Farm Press content year-round. No other
agriculture publication o;ers that option.”

“transformed this year to make it more in-

Georgia Peanut Commission
Expo attendees will have an opportunity to make a di;erence this year by donating $1 for a jar of peanut butter at the Peanut Proud exhibit, located inside the Georgia Peanut Commission building at WC- 9.
Peanut Proud is a humanitarian relief organization that seeks to unite
the peanut community in celebrating its pride through humanitarian efforts and recognition of excellence.
While Peanut Proud was initially started at an expo held in March, the
organization has since turned its focus to humanitarian e;orts, striving
to place peanuts and peanut products into the hands of those in need.
Since the organization’s formation in 2009, Peanut Proud has donated peanut products to community food banks across the U.S., as well as
in areas impacted by natural disasters, after-school programs and international aid e;orts. One of the first major relief e;orts was demonstrated
by the industry joining together to donate peanut butter and products to
Haiti following the devastating 2010 earthquake.
“Through the years, Peanut Proud has continued to foster goodwill
throughout the industry by responding e;ciently and quickly in natural
disaster situations,” says Gregg Grimsley, Peanut Proud president. “The
entire industry can be proud of the unified e;ort shown by helping those
Peanut Proud recently donated more than 60,000 jars of peanut but-
ter to help those in need after historic flooding in Louisiana. The peanut
butter was delivered to Second Harvest Food Banks in New Orleans,
Walker, and Baton Rouge.
Several peanut producer and industry organizations donate money
to Peanut Proud on a regular basis to aid victims of natural disasters.
Donations are also made by individuals who share a love for the peanut
industry and wish to help those in need.
Peanut butter is the No. 1 most-requested item by food banks due
to its nutritious, inexpensive, and shelf-stable characteristics. To make a
lifesaving donation, visit Peanut Proud’s website at www.peanutproud.
