Sunbelt Expo 2017: Our 40th show
Come and see more than 4,000 product lines
showcasing the latest that agriculture has to offer
WE WELCOME OUR loyal visitors and exhibitors to the 40th
annual edition of North America’s Premier Farm Show®, the
Sunbelt Ag Expo! We offer something for everyone involved
in, or interested in agriculture.
As we prepare to celebrate our 40th anniversary Expo, we
can’t help but think the show’s founders would be amazed and
astounded at its size and scope today. To put the growth into
perspective, the 1978 show hosted 410 exhibitors on an esti-
mated 25 acres. This year, we will host over 1,200 exhibitors,
Of the original 410
exhibitors, 23 have par-
ticipated in all 40 shows.
To those 23 exhibitors, we
sincerely say thank you
— thank you for believ-
ing in and supporting the
Sunbelt Ag Expo and its
mission to provide the lat-
est and greatest ag technology and educational information
to the American farmer.
The Expo’s 600-acre Darrell Williams Research Farm is
a world-renowned site for ag scientists to test innovations,
and is a proving ground for many advances in ag technology. It’s also the location of our daily harvesting and tillage
demonstrations, where manufacturers will operate recently
released harvesting and tillage equipment for cotton,
peanuts, soybeans, and hay. The fields are also the location
for the Compact Tractor Driving Range, and the John Deere
Gator Test Track.
In the static exhibit area, you will find over 300 interac-
tive educational displays, guided tours, and demonstrations.
The displays and activities showcase the many ways our
exhibitors, agricultural researchers, and educators are
helping farmers to continue to produce the safest, most
economical, and most abundant supply of food, fiber, and
shelter in the world.
On Tuesday, we will cut the ribbon on the Spotlight State
Exhibit. We are honored to have Tennessee as our 2017
Spotlight State. The Tennessee committee has put together
a phenomenal exhibit, themed “The Soundtrack of America
– Made in Tennessee.” It will showcase Tennessee’s cultural
diversity, agricultural history, and the many wonderful
places and experiences the state has to offer. You’ll find it at
the Spotlight State Building on the south end of Block B- 6.
We will announce the Swisher Sweets Sunbelt Expo/
Southeastern Farmer of the Year at a Tuesday luncheon. It
is an honor to celebrate the 28th anniversary of this outstanding program, to welcome 10 new farm families into the
Farmer of the Year family, and to give them the recognition
they so richly deserve.
We owe our continued success to the hard work and dedi-
cation of many, especially our agricultural community, its
related agribusinesses, and our many visitors, old and new.
We wouldn’t be here without you.
So, come and join the fun and fellowship, then leave with
a renewed sense of community and confidence in our future
as the agricultural leader of the world.
We hope you enjoy your visit to the Sunbelt Ag Expo, and
that you will take time to fully experience all that we have
to offer. This show program and our new 2017 Sunbelt Expo
