OCTOBER IS NOT only the month for the Sunbelt Agricultural Expo,
it’s also Breast Cancer Awareness Month — and again this year Expo
visitors will see the giant pink tires on the irrigation tower at the Reinke Manufacturing building.
Breast Cancer can strike any family, regardless of socio-economic
status, and Reinke Manufacturing is fighting back by creating awareness of the disease and raising money to support vital research.
Mike Mills, Southeast territory manager for the Nebraska com-
pany, says it’s their way of giving back to their customer base, and that
they are proud to make this gesture of support to their clients and
This is Reinke’s sixth year of “Finding a Cure is Pivotal,” campaign
and the fifth year selling t-shirts. The shirts, designed specifically for
Expo, will be on sale at the company’s booth for $10, with all proceeds
going to “ 26. 2 with DONNA,” a non-profit organization dedicated to
breast cancer research.
26. 2 with DONNA organizes the only marathon with events that
serve to not only raise awareness, but to generate money for research
and provide support for the many women living with the disease.
Mills says Reinke incorporates a common love of agriculture in
their partnership with Sunbelt and their partnership with 26. 2 with
DONNA to help create awareness of the terrible disease.
Reinke has invested over $100,000 in irrigation equipment and
buildings at the Expo and at the Expo farm. The company will continue to turn their display pink, as well as continuing the “socially responsible goal helping to increase awareness of this disease,” Mills says.
Reinke has donated over $15,000 from selling shirts at Sunbelt Expo.
Representatives from Colquitt Regional Medical Center will be
partnering with Reinke to answer any questions visitors may have.
Hospital staff and volunteers will discuss topics such as early detec-
tion and provide more information about the disease.
