EXPO PARTNERS
KATIBETH MIMS
THE GEORGIA NATIONAL FAIRGROUNDS and
Agricenter began with just an idea that was
dreamed up by Representative Larry Walker in
1983. The first fair took place in 1990 and, with
it, came the Georgia National Fair’s mission
to showcase Georgia’s agricultural industry
and promote the agricultural achievements
of Georgia’s youth.
This year, Oct. 3-13, 2019, the Georgia
National Fairgrounds celebrated 30 years
of concerts, entertainment, education, and
family fun.
With similar missions and all of its amazing
history and success, the Sunbelt Ag Expo
could not be more excited to start a new
partnership with the Georgia National Fair
this year.
“[ The Georgia National Fair] has lots going
on this year but we are very excited about
the partnership between the two companies,”
says Keaton Walker, Marketing and Sponsor-
ship Director for the Georgia National Fair-
grounds and Agricenter. “Being from Moultrie,
this is a little bit of a point of pride bringing
a bit of Moultrie to the fair and bringing a bit
of the fair to Moultrie.”
With both the Georgia National Fair and
the Sunbelt Ag Expo happening in the same
month, some great events have been planned
between the two businesses.
The Georgia National Fair will be on the
expo grounds promoting their Georgia
National Antique Agriculture Show. This
show will take place Nov. 14-16, 2019, at the
Georgia National Fairgrounds.
True to its name, the show will include
antique tractors, trucks, and equipment and
educational exhibits. There will also be tours of
local farms, a cotton gin, a peanut warehouse
and a pecan harvesting operation. The Georgia
National Antique Agriculture Show will be free
to everyone of any age. As amazing as this
show sounds, don’t forget to stop by and see
the Georgia National Fair on the expo grounds
to learn more about this show and enter into
raffles to win some prizes.
Not only will the Georgia National Fair be
a part of the Sunbelt Ag Expo, but the expo
will also be a part of the fair. The Sunbelt Ag
Expo will be sponsoring College Day on the
second Thursday in October, Oct. 10. College
Day allows college students to come to the
fair for half the price of regular tickets.
The Sunbelt Ag Expo will also be sponsoring the Diamond Rio concert on the night
of Oct. 10. Come and have fun and listen to
some great music to celebrate this great new
partnership.
The partnership will allow two businesses
so passionate about promoting the agricultural industry and celebrating Georgia’s
youths’ accomplishments to come together
and strengthen their efforts. The Sunbelt Ag
Expo and the Georgia National Fair are both
very excited for this partnership and what it
will bring in the future.
