Support Local: Georgia Grown Marketplace at Expo
GEORGIA GROWN has been coming to the
Sunbelt Ag Expo for years to tell expo-goers
about their wonderful program. This year,
however, Georgia Grown products will be
showcased like never before. With a new and
exciting Georgia Grown Marketplace housed in
the Family Living Building, attendees are sure
to get a taste of the many wonderful products
the state has to offer.
From jellies to bedsheets, this corner of the
expo has so much to offer. Through a partner-
ship with Georgia Grown, over thirty exhibitors
will come together to share their products with
“Having the Georgia Grown program has
been one of the best ways to market and
promote what we grow,” says Ann Wildes, rep-
resentative of the Blueberry Barn and Georgia
Blueberry Growers Association. “More and
more people are looking for local. They want
to know where their food comes from, the
safety of it, and the quality. With the Georgia
Grown label, people know they are getting
a top-quality product and one they can feel
good about serving to their family.”
The Blueberry Barn in Alma came as an
exhibitor for the first time last year. This year,
they will be housed in the Georgia Grown
Market Place. They carry a number of products
including jams, sodas, tea, coffee, salad dress-
ing, and blueberry ice cream.
“I think the Georgia Grown Market Place
and the advertising they will do will help
encourage the expo participants to come
in and see what we have to offer,” she says.
“Most folks are looking for something unique,
different, wholesome and we will have it all in
the Georgia Grown Market Place. It will be a
one-stop-shopping extravaganza to meet the
needs and expectations of the guests. There
will be a variety of products to choose from and
lots of sampling opportunities too.”
If you are in search of a pick-me-up, Pecan
Hill Coffee Roasters will be set up and brewing
in the Georgia Grown Market Place. Originally
from Thomasville, their products pack a big
punch. With roasted coffee beans in a number
of blends and flavors, they have a unique and
exciting product line for attendees to see.
With Georgia Grown products located in
one area, expo-goers can easily get a better
taste of Georgia and learn about many local
Back in the Georgia Grown building next

Some of the south’s best chefs will take the
stage to show you some of their best recipes.
Holly Chute, Georgia Grown executive chef,
will be joined on stage by a number of people
including Clay Oliver with Oliver Farms and
First Lady Marty Kemp.
“Marty Kemp has done so much to promote
Georgia Grown and we are so appreciative of
what she has done for our program,” says Sarah

director of domestic trade.
