THE FOOD SAFETY MODERNIZATION ACT PRODUCE SAFETY RULE is the first ever set
of federal regulatory standards for the production, harvest and handling of fruits and vegetables.
The Georgia Department of Agriculture’s
(GDA), Farm Safety Program, focuses on
supporting and training Georgia’s produce
growers. The GDA is committed to the success
of Georgia growers while ensuring the safety
of consumers. Therefore, our devoted team
of inspectors is responsible for implementing
and enforcing the Produce Safety Rule (PSR).
