IT IS ALWAYS AN HONOR to welcome our friends, neighbors and guests to the Sunbelt Ag Expo, but I am especially grateful for the opportunityto attend the 2021 edition of North America’sPremier Farm Show. Up until last year, ourannual October voyage to Moultrie to see, listenand learn was always a given. An automaticdate on the calendar that no one questioned orwondered about. It was normal to catch up onthe latest technologies as we visited with friendswe may not have seen since the previous fall.Unfortunately, nothing was normal in 2020 andmany of us found ourselves missing the daysthat normal seemed, well, so, — normal.
Thankfully, we are closer to normal than wehave been for the last 18 months or so, withhigh hopes that it will continue to progressuntil there is no longer a need to question whatnormal is or isn’t. For now, I fully plan to enjoyall the normalness of one of my favorite eventsof the year. Sunbelt Ag Expo has always beenthe place to get the ;rst glimpse of innovativetechnology, ;nd the latest information and learnthe newest techniques. I plan to do all of thatwith a renewed purpose that I’m certain willexceed my normal expectations. I’m eager toconduct business with companies and industriesthat have endured the struggle that the lack ofnormalcy created over the past year and half. Most of all, I am overjoyed for the chance tosee people face to face and to chat, engage andparticipate in normal interactions that just lastyear were anything but the norm.
As you make your rounds, please be sure
to drop by the Georgia Agriculture Building,
located near the main entrance of the Expo,
for information and fellowship. In addition, the
Georgia Grown Marketplace in the Family Living
Building gives show attendees the opportunity
to purchase artisanal goods from Georgia Grown
members. Join us to shop, watch live cooking
demos and enjoy delicious samples.
I am con;dent this year’s Sunbelt Ag Expowill bring us one step closer to normal as wegather together once again at North America’sPremier Farm Show. I would like to wish all ofour exhibitors and attendees a successful week, and I look forward to visiting with you over thenext few days.
